Hire me for fun comics and history workshops for kids and grownups
I am a confident workshop presenter with experience running sessions at schools, museums, libraries, writers festivals, arts festivals, young writers camps and (one time) the Sydney Opera House.

(Please note, I charge Australian Society of Author Rates and additional travel costs for events outside the Canberra regions).

Bespoke workshops
I love to create bespoke workshops for institutions to help people of all ages connect with history, human stories and science through collection materials.

Talks on comics, writing and history
I love to present talks on comics making, writing, drawing and women’s history (especially electoral history) for adults and teens.
For three years, I’ve been putting my honours degree in history to great use as a researcher and tour guide for She Shapes History. If you want to just hang out on an existing tour, book through the SSH website and ask for me.

Book readings and drawing sessions
I have created a number of workshops that incorporate readings and drawing specifically around my CBCA shortlisted book A Loo of One’s Own and my Eisner nominated book Making Nonfiction Comics.

Comics making
I’ve run workshops from 30 minutes to one hour to four hours long that share comics making skills through the practice of writing, drawing, making mini comics, longer strips and sharpening existing abilities. I try to fit the skills we learn to the place, event and audience in question, so no workshop is exactly the same.
